Mason Kuepers and Cade Rosenwald each won two individual events for the unbeaten Brainerd Warriors who posted a 102-84 victory over Class 1A’s fifth-ranked Alexandria Cardinals in a Central Lakes Conference Meet Thursday, Jan. 9, at Brainerd High School.
Kuepers swam the fastest times in the 200- and 500-yard freestyles and Rosenwald was first in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly.
Tristan Dawson won the 100 backstroke and Izaac Herrlich scored a 238.10 to lead a Warrior sweep in the diving competition.
Dawson and Rosenwald teamed up with Parker Tatge and Dylan Paulson to win the 200 medley relay. Brainerd’s 400 free relay team of Kuepers, Rosenwald, Dawson and Connor Lund finished second, three-hundredths of a second behind Alexandria.
Paulson finished second in the 50 and 100 free races behind Alexandria’s Nicholas Welle who also anchored the Cards’ winning 200 and 400 free relays.
