Brainerd High School graduate Katy Etterman competed in her first Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2018 event in Mostar, a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina Saturday, Sept. 8.

Following graduation from BHS, Etterman went on to dive at the University of Minnesota from 2011-15. She graduated from Minnesota in May 2015 and moved to Belgium where she began training for Dragone's The House of Dancing Water.

In September 2015, the 25-year-old moved to Macau, an autonomous region on the south coast of China, where she completed a 2-year contract as an acrobat for The House of Dancing Water. Afterward, she moved back to the U.S. to continue pursuing circus arts.

In the winter of 2017-18, Etterman accepted a position with Royal Caribbean Productions and helped the company in its creation process for an aerial act for Symphony of the Seas, the newest and largest ship of their cruise line.

She spent this summer traveling and staying involved in the high diving community. Etterman recently moved to Las Vegas where she will begin working in a new show in November. She also hopes to compete in the FINA High Diving World Cup in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, in November.
