Doubling up on a swing added to the fun for Macy Baloga (left) and Noelle Laflamme of Little Falls Monday, June 25, in Kiwanis Park in Brainerd.

The park was abuzz with children enjoying summer vacation at the playground in pleasant weather. The temperature reached 70 degrees by noon Monday, according to the National Weather Service, and reached 77 degrees by 5 p.m. The relative humidity decreased throughout the afternoon following morning rain, registering .13 inches at the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport.

Kiwanis Park is one of eight Brainerd parks with a playground. Also sporting equipment for playtime are Bane, Buffalo Hills, Gregory, Jaycees, Lum, Memorial and Triangle parks.

In Baxter, find playgrounds at Berrywood, Loren Thompson, Oscar Kristofferson and Southdale parks, along with the Whipple Beach recreation area.

Playgrounds at area elementary schools are also generally open to the public for summertime play.
