Decorah, Iowa - Jim Carlson, a 1974 graduate of Luther College, will be inducted into the Luther College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 11, as part of Luther College homecoming weekend.
Carlson is a founding partner of Collin W. Fritz Associates, Ltd., in Brainerd.
A four-year starter and letterwinner, Carlson helped Luther capture four Iowa Conference tennis championship (1971-74).
Individually, he was a two-time Iowa Conference singles champion at No. 3 (1975) and at No. 2 (1974) as well as a three-time doubles champion at No. 1 (1972-74) with teammate Robert Frost. The Carlson-Frost duo compiled a career doubles record of 39-12. They qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in doubles in 1972 and in 1974.
As a freshman, Carlson teamed with Steve Wold at No. 3 doubles and the tandem tallied a record of 11-5, giving Carlson a career record of 50-17 and a winning percentage of .746.
