In anticipation of Kevin Garnett's homecoming game Wednesday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves released 500 standing-room-only tickets.
The Timberwolves had already added 1,000 seats for the home game at Target Center against the Washington Wizards.
Garnett was acquired from the Brooklyn Nets at last Thursday's NBA trade deadline. The fifth overall pick in the 1995 draft from Chicago's Farragut Academy last played for the Timberwolves in 2007.
"I figured if LeBron can go home, then why can't I?" the power forward said Tuesday after being reintroduced as a member of the Wolves. "Coming here was difficult because I am a loyal person. Leaving Brooklyn in the middle of the season isn't the best way I would like to do it, but the opportunity to come here and help young guys in this transition and being better and better for this city, I saw this as a great opportunity."
