Track and Field: Pequot's Pierzinski in top 10 in 2 events

ST. PAUL--Reid Pierzinski of Pequot Lakes finished in the top 10 in two events as the Patriots, Brainerd, Wadena-Deer Creek and Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale competed in the Hamline Elite Meet Friday at Hamline University.

ST. PAUL-Reid Pierzinski of Pequot Lakes finished in the top 10 in two events as the Patriots, Brainerd, Wadena-Deer Creek and Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale competed in the Hamline Elite Meet Friday at Hamline University.

Pierzinski scored a fourth-place finish in triple jump and was sixth in the 110 hurdles. Jeff Spieker of Brainerd took fifth in the 110 hurdles.

Samuel Moore of BHV scored the top area boys finish with third place in discus. Max Giza from Staples-Motley finished in a fifth-place tie in pole vault and the 4x200 team from Wadena-Deer Creek took third.

Addie Hubbard of Pequot Lakes finished second in triple jump and the Patriots 4x400 relay finished fifth while their 4x200 team captured eighth.

Amari Riley of Little Falls finished fourth in girls discus and ninth in shot put.
