College Track and Field: NDSU's Beachy women's heptathlon runner-up

TULSA, Okla.—Jaelin Beachy of North Dakota State University recorded personal bests in five of the seven events on her way to a runner-up finish in the heptathlon at the Summit League Outdoor Championships last weekend.

Beachy's finishes included a 14.29 hurdles time that moved her to No. 10 on NDSU's all-time performers list. Her heptathlon hurdles time was 7/100ths of a second away from first place.

Entering the javelin, the sixth event of seven, only 14 points separated Beachy and eventual champion Vanessa Lane of South Dakota State and Pequot Lakes.

The Staples-Motley graduate won the heptathlon shot put and long jump for the Bison women won the meet for the 11th consecutive year.

Neururer wins decathlon

TULSA, Okla.—Senior Matt Neururer won the decathlon title for the North Dakota State men's track and field team on the second day of the Summit League Outdoor Championships last weekend.

Neururer, a Pillager graduate, scored a career-best 7,152 points to win the decathlon title and ranks eighth all-time in the event at NDSU.
