The Pierz Pioneers finished fifth followed by Pequot Lakes in sixth and the Little Falls Flyers in 9th place at the Section 8-2A True Team meet Tuesday, May 7, at Detroit Lakes.

Pequot's 4x800 relay opened the meet with a two second victory over Dilwoth-Glyndon-Felton and the Patriots' 4x400 relay ended the meet with a near one second victory.

The Flyers got a second and third from Kali Schirmers and Dani Schirmers in the 100-meter hurdles. They were followed by Pierz's Ashley Kimman in fourth and Jayden Smeija in fifth.

Pequot's Calia Chaney won the 3200 and was second in the 1600 run and Desera Engholm won the shot put with a 42-foot-0 effort. She bettered the Flyers Amari Riley, who finished second in the shot but clipped Engholm in the discus with a winning toss of 126-11. Engholm was second.
