CROSBY-Jordyn VanVickle, Julia Johnson and Amelia Williams each won two individual events for the Pillager girls who placed first at the Crosby-Ironton Invitational Friday, May 10.

Williams won the discus and shot put. VanVickle was first in the 200-meter dash and long jump and Johnson won the 100 hurdles and pole vault.

The Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale girls finished second with winning performances from Alyssa Thompson in the 1600 and 800 runs, Courtney Templin in the 3200 run and Marissa Baker in the 100 dash.

The third-place Aitkin girls saw Teagen Piecek win the 400 dash.

The Crosby-Ironton girls placed fourth and were led by Kathryn Ireland's first in the high jump.

On the boys side, C-I finished second behind Deer River/Northland. Tucker Ringhand won the 1600 run and Peter Nierenhausen won the pole vault.

Ben Oie won the discus and shot put for the third-place Pillager boys.

Rian Woodrow's win in the high jump led the Aitkin boys to fourth place.

Jake Ismil clocked the fastest time in the 400 dash for the sixth-place BHV boys.
