The Brainerd Lakes VFW 15 team swept a doubleheader from Buffalo by scores of 7-3 and 5-4 Saturday at Mills Field.
In Game One, Sam Miller went 3-for-4 and scored two runs. Renzen Caughey drove in two runs and Josh Hukriede went 2-for-4. Morgan Gibson, Miller, Andrew Dillon and Hukriede hit doubles. Winning pitcher Eric Martin went the distance, allowing two hits and two earned runs with three strikeouts and six walks.
Ben Jones drove in two runs, Evan Storbakken was 2-for-3 and Hukriede doubled in Game Two. Caughey got the win pitching two-thirds of an inning in relief.
