VFW Baseball: Brainerd 15-year-old team loses pool play opener

BAXTER--Sam Miller and Morgan Gibson each had two hits including doubles as the Brainerd 15-year-old team lost to Anoka-Ramsey 8-3 in its first game of pool play in the Minnesota 15-year-old Tournament of Champions Friday at Forestview Middle School.

Miller drove in two runs and Evan Storbakken scored the other Brainerd run.

Eric Martin started for Brainerd, pitched three innings, and took the loss. Alex Host pitched one inning and Kameron Vanek two.

Brainerd is scheduled to resume pool play Saturday when it meets Edina at Mills Field at 8 a.m. and ACBYA at Central Lakes College at 12:30 p.m.
