PRINCETON-Michael Laber pitched a 2-hitter to help the Brainerd 16U VFW team blank Princeton 14-0 in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday, June 20.
In five innings, Laber walked three and struck out six. Broc Peterson went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Konnor Wicklund and Carter Brau each had two hits. Jake Miller drove in three runs.
Kaleb Sundquist pitched a complete game and went 2-3 with two runs helping Brainerd to a 6-4 win in Game Two. Sundquist allowed four hits and no earned runs with three walks and six strikeouts. Gunnar Wicklund was 2-3 with a double and triple and two RBIs and Seth Vagts drove in two runs.

Pillager, Aitkin split
Eric Peterson drove in the game's only run with a 2-out single in the second inning as the Pillager VFW team nipped Aitkin 1-0 in Game Two of a doubleheader Wednesday, June 20.

Winning pitcher Ty Swenson went all five innings. He allowed one hit with six strikeouts and no walks. Dalton Barrett was 1-1 for Pillager.
Cade Barrett was 2-2 for Pillager in a 4-2 loss in Game One. Dalton Barrett was 1-1 with two RBIs. Cole Hiltner was 1-1 and twice was hit by pitches. Losing pitcher Sam Jensen allowed four earned runs and four hits with two walks.
