The Brainerd 15-under VFW team suffered 9-1 and 11-3 defeats at the hands of Little Falls Monday, June 21 at Central Lakes College.
In Game One, Keaton Lingenfelter drove in the Brainerd run, which was scored by Logan Goetz. Lingenfelter suffered the loss. He allowed six runs, four earned on five hits and four walks. He struck out six in five innings of work.
In Game Two, Alteyu Marcelo pitched the loss. He allowed 11 runs, eight earned on six hits and two walks. He struck out two in four innings. Asher Borle pitched a perfect fifth.
Lingenfelter, Bryan Schaitberger, Borle and Eli Tautges collected hits for Brainerd, with Tautges hitting a double.
Brainerd’s 15U team will play a doubleheader 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Sartell. Brainerd’s 16U team hosts St. Cloud Red 11 a.m. Wednesday.
