ST. CLOUD-Michael Laber went 4-for-6 with five RBIs to help the third-seeded Brainerd VFW team to a wild 17-16 victory over No. 7 Sauk Rapids in a losers bracket game in the District 6 Tournament Tuesday, July 24.
Trailing 16-15, Brainerd scored once in the bottom of the seventh and once in the bottom of the eighth to secure the win.
Broc Peterson and Colby Watland each contributed three hits and Konnor Wicklund two. Wicklund drove in four runs and Peterson and Watland each plated two.
Ethan Sannes started on the mound and went 3.1 innings. He was followed by Peterson who pitched 2.3 innings. Seth Vagts pitched the final two innings and got the win.
