Broc Peterson pitched a complete game as Brainerd's age 16 VFW team defeated St. Cloud West 8-4 in the first game a doubleheader Wednesday.
Peterson struck out five and walked five. He allowed three hits and four runs (1 earned). Ben Jones was 1-for-2 with a triple, walk, two RBIs and a run. Chris Karels was 1-3 with a walk and two RBIs.
St. Cloud West scored eight runs in the fifth inning and won Game Two 11-5 as Brainerd committed four errors in the contest. Mason Argir was 2-3 with a walk, stolen base and run and Mark Boran was 1-2 with two walks and a run.
