VFW Baseball: Cold Spring ends Flyers' season

Jake Kapphahn went 2-for-3 for Little Falls as the Flyers season ended in the losers' bracket of the District 6 Tournament Tuesday with an 8-3 loss to Cold Spring at Adamson Field in Brainerd.

The Flyers held a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth but gave up six runs in the inning.

Kapphahn, who was the losing pitcher, doubled, drove in a run and scored a run. Mason Dempsey, Zach Opatz and Ben Sowada each had one hit for the Flyers who end the season 12-8.

Foley won the championship with a 12-2 victory in six innings over Cold Spring.
