Jake Miller finished 3-4 with three runs scored and Kaleb Sundquist was 3-4 with three RBIs and a run to power Brainerd past St. Cloud Red 8-7 Wednesday in the first round of the 16U playoffs in Brainerd.
Brainerd rallied from a 7-6 deficit by scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to advance.
Mason Argier was 2-5 with two RBIs and Konnor Wicklund was 2-4 with two RBIs and Seth Vagts was 1-4 with two runs.
Argir started the contest and allowed three earned runs on six hits and six walks. He struck out two over five innings of work.
Ethan Sanes pitched the final two innings for the win. He allowed one earned run on three walks. He stuck out three.
