PIERZ-Drew Elness made his first appearance on the mound and led the Pierz Bulldogs to their first win of the season, an 8-1 victory over the Royalton Riverdogs Wednesday. Elness pitched a complete game striking out eight and walking one while allowing 11 hits.
Austin Dickmann drilled a two-run homer to left in the second inning putting the Bulldogs up 2-0.
Teddy Ehler went 2-4 with a double and Ryan Foreman finished 2-3 with a pair of walks and two runs scored for the 1-9 Bulldogs. Michael Petron and Nate Benusa both finished 3-5 for Royalton while Nate Psyck had two hits and scored the only Riverdogs run.
