Free-agent offensive tackle Andre Smith and the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a one-year deal that could be worth up to $4.5 million.

Smith announced the deal via Twitter, saying Minneapolis here I come. Excited to join the Vikings on a 1-yr deal!!

Smith is expected to face off for the right tackle spot against Phil Loadholt, who has missed much of the past two seasons because of injuries, and last year's starter, T.J. Clemmings.

Smith was the sixth overall pick out of Alabama in the 2009 draft by Cincinnati. He has made 73 starts in seven seasons.

Minnesota already has bolstered its offensive line this offseason. The Vikings signed former San Francisco 49ers guard last week.
