A trip to the Class 2A State volleyball tournament helped the Pequot Lakes Patriots place three players on this year’s Brainerd Dispatch All-Area Team.
Perennial powerhouses Wadena-Deer Creek and Pine River-Backus combined to fill five more sports on this year’s elite squad.
Players for the all-area team are nominated by their coaches and then selected by the Dispatch Sports Department.
