I'm here at the airport in Las Vegas, Nev., waiting for the "red eye" to take me to MSP. It's been another one of those whirlwind trips. I spent today at the Shot Show, the big gun show in Vegas. So many guns and so many other things related to the shooting and hunting industry. One day is not long enough to cover all the ground and see all there is to see, but I tried. All these companies showcasing their new product for the upcoming year.
There is just so much to look at, it's almost hard to recall all the things I saw and people I talked to. I'm going to go through all the cards and literature next week and have a little refresher. Guns manufactured in Pillager and others from Italy, an absolutely amazing display of goods under one roof. Roaming around this huge show, I did run into a fair amount of Minnesota folk. We have a pretty large contingency of people in the shooting sports industry that call Minnesota home.
Vegas certainly is an awesome place to people watch, I did a lot of it. It's also a great place to come and lose your shirt! I'm not a gambler, but I did drop $20 into a quarter slot machine after dinner tonight. I just kept betting the max (six) and all of the sudden the dinging and ringing starting coming from my machine-$117.50, I hit it big time! And then I was done! Back in the day, I would have probably not stopped but I think I'm slowly starting to get it-slowly. So, after this day of guns, guns and more guns, tomorrow is boats, boats and more boats. The Minneapolis Boat Show has been going on this week and I'll be at the Larson Boats display promoting the Larson FX brand for the rest of the weekend. So, that's my story. If the story continues, it will involve a big ice fishing party out on Hole-In-The-Day Bay next weekend with another motley crew of people from all around the world!
P.S. I'm guessing that tullibees are going to dominate the board this year with an eelpout taking the cake!
