It's 3:29 p.m. on Thursday and hotter than a pistol! I'm running on a few hours of sleep, as I was awakened by the weather that took us by surprise last night. But, it sounds like the folks to the north took the brunt of it and that will change a lot of people's plans for the next couple of weeks!
Moondance got rocked last night and our plans to camp at the Elsenpeter property on Ten Mile was derailed too! Might just have to make some alternate plans and hang a little closer to town on this hot and steamy weekend! This is all pretty minor compared to what could have happened. This most recent storm came by surprise and thankfully it wasn't any more powerful! I was whining this morning because we didn't have power and because the minnows at Dave's Sportland were all doing the backstroke. No coffee on top of all of that and we'll just call it a messed up morning!
I was running a little late on pick up at Madden's Resort, but my group was totally cool and very understanding ... in fact one of their guys was late too. The guys were just happy to be out on the water and happy that we were able to catch some fish after the storm had rolled through! In fact, I think they were just happy to be out on the water.
We have continued to put some walleyes in the boat and the bass, rock bass and panfish have been doing some chowing too. We continue to fish Gull pretty hard, but we have also been visiting our neighbors Round, Whitefish and North Long. I think Mille Lacs is going to be on tap pretty soon too, but the lakes close to home have been good enough to keep most customers happy! I'm wondering if I am starting to get older, because this morning as I was netting a customer's walleye, I kinked my back and I am currently as bit hobbled! So, that's some of the scoop. If you want the rest of the scoop, folllow Walleyedan on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! I'm thinking next week I'll be talking about the state of Gull Lake. Lot's of winers and lots of diners.
