Walleyedan: Contemplating another year

The new year is just around the corner, and as I look back on 2014 I would have to say it has been full of mostly good things. No, things aren't always super rosy in Walleyedan's world but overall I am very thankful for another awesome year.

The new year is just around the corner, and as I look back on 2014 I would have to say it has been full of mostly good things. No, things aren't always super rosy in Walleyedan's world but overall I am very thankful for another awesome year.

God is always good and as we wind down on the final days of 2014, we can only wait and see what's next. Press-on, it's about all we can do.

I would like to use this space to thank my family, my sponsors, our guides, all of our customers, friends and family, all of you loyal readers of this column and most of all the King above who oversees the whole situation! I hope this next year is one that is full of many blessings for all of you and your families. I'm not sure what the plan will entail for 2015 in Walleyedan's world, but I will say that I am ready for "what's next."

The kids are 12, 14 and 18 and things are about ready to shift into a new gear as our oldest will be planning on leaving the nest. I know I am touching on the emotions here and maybe some of this has to do with side effects of my Alka Seltzer, but I really can't believe how fast the time sails by! I will be 47 this year on the same day as our local, "worlds largest", Ice Fishing Extravaganza! And as I look at that number, I'm not sure how I feel! Old, no! Prime, no! But like I said before, I will just hang on and see where the path leads me! Hopefully there is a big buck, big fish, big bear and many other good big things along the way!

I wish you all a happy, healthy and blessed 2015 full of good, big things too!
