Brainerd, Minnesota, a pretty well-known place that has been referred to as "God's Country." But, isn't everywhere God's Country?
So what is The Brainerd Area known for? A lot! Paul Bunyan Land, fishing, the lakes, golf, The Mills Family, Madden's Resort, Babe Winkelman, Gary Roach, The Lindner Family, Grand View Lodge and all of the other resorts scattered throughout the area, Marv Koep, Bar Harbor Supper Club, Camp Confidence and so much more.
I may be slightly biased, but I think a lot of what Brainerd is known for revolves around the lakes and the fishing! So why not a Brainerd Fishing Team? Well, that's exactly what we are about to fire-up right here right now! The word is spreading fast and we will know more, as far as what the interest level is after a meeting at the high school and at the middle school next week.
Jason Bahr is the person that started digging into this program and with a little help from "our friends", things are moving along quite quickly. Mills Fleet Farm is on board as the title sponsor and things are in motion! Thanks to the endorsement of Charlie Campbell (Brainerd High School) and Derek Hendrickson (Forest View Middle School), I do believe this program will grow into a real whopper!
