My sincerest apologies to those of you flipping through the pages of the outdoors section hoping to find a tip as to where the walleye bite has been hot, or an entertaining quip on one of my dad's latest outdoor adventures. To many of you my father is Walleyedan. He's a family man who holds the outdoors close to his heart. He's passionate for all things with scales, feathers and fur. He's a God-fearing man who's not afraid to stand up for what he believes in. My dad is all of these things and then some, but most importantly he's an awesome father to my brother, sister and myself.

They say change is inevitable and I believe that statement, but change is also good. As of late, after change seemingly walked into our home-uninvited-I've begun to associate that specific word with all things negative. If it wasn't for my dad's trusting faith and reassurance I never would have been taught the valuable lesson of the importance of falling back on a little patience and a whole lot of prayer. Sure, life is going to be different, but that's exciting! At the end of the day I'm thankful that I've been blessed with a dad who doesn't let a little change of pace get in the way of being an all around awesome guy.

Dad, I know this article probably came as a surprise to you as you scrambled to write your own for this weekend's paper. It's nice to know we share the same love for procrastination. I know you'll go on to do some really incredible things in this next chapter of life, and I'm excited to be along for the ride. I doubt you'll get breakfast in bed this Sunday. I doubt you'll get much alone time. I doubt you'll be free of some sort of nagging from Mom to clean your "crap" off the kitchen table. However, I can guarantee that you will always be loved.

Happy Father's Day to all of you fathers!
