Guns. Is that a scary word for you? I hope not. I grew up with guns, starting with a cap gun and over the years I have shot a lot of other guns. I'm in the market for a handgun at the moment and also trying to decide which shotgun would be the best for my 13-year-old son, now that he is ready to upsize.

I listened to presidential candidate Donald Trump on Facebook this morning talking about his view of guns and I really liked it. He seems to get it and I just wish that more people did. Guns are fun and guns can be dangerous if you're not careful. For the folks that think we don't need guns, I say you shouldn't have them then. For those of us that hunt, shoot trap and skeet, compete in competitions and want to use them as self-defense I'm with you! End of story. As this world continues to slip away, let's not lose our grip on our guns. It certainly doesn't take a whiz-bang to see that we are "going to hell in a handbasket," so I thinks it is about time to get a clue and stand up for the rights that are ours and the rights that have been there for a long time.

I'm glad I grew up in a home that embraced the hunting and shooting heritage and I am happy that my wife and three children aren't afraid to pull the trigger, either. In fact, my daughter Alex, who we just shipped off to college, received (as a gift from my dad) a .22 rifle and she can shoot!

Let's teach the world that guns are good, instead of listening to the "world" tell us that we need to get rid of them. Go Trump, I stand up for our Second Amendment, too! I also believe in the freedom of speech. I'm sure this article will stir up some serious thoughts and opinions, so I'm going to drop one more of my beliefs on you. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that if we don't believe that he died for our sins we will spend eternity in hell. Strong words? Just my beliefs - please look into it if you don't feel the same.

Must be the moon,
