Weightlifting: Warrior Liftathon raises more than $14,000

One-hundred eight Brainerd students in grades 8-12 raised more than $14,000 for charitable organizations and those in need in the Brainerd area in the 26th annual Sertoma Sunrise Warrior Liftathon in March at the Brainerd High School weight room.

The Sertoma Sunrise Club is sponsoring a recognition breakfast April 28 in the BHS cafeteria for the top three fundraising teams and the male and female Liftathon MPPO winners, Adam Kleist and Ellen Hickman.

Tristan Brecht will also be recognized for his participation in the Liftathon in each of the five years that he was eligible for the competition.

Participants were divided into 11 fundraising teams, with 9-10 lifters per team.

The top three fundraising teams and their Sertoma captains:

First Place:

Second Place:
