As we are wrapping up the month of July that usually means some hot weather and for us a trip to the cabin to do some blueberry gathering. Last year, there wasn't a very good crop but this season is really on the good side. We filled our buckets and even had some bonus raspberries and a few wild strawberries.
Surprisingly the bugs and ticks were not too bad considering how wet it has been. So if you are looking for something to go do with the family, it's pretty satisfying finding berries in the wild and remembering the day every time you take out that homemade blueberry syrup or raspberry jelly. If you're lucky, you might find a new hunting spot or maybe an antler or two. Even if you only find enough for a snack, it's still some much needed outdoor time away from the TV. Just keep your eyes open for gators.
