What's Up Outdoors: Full fall hunting schedule

It's finally happening, the leaves are slowly turning and we are having some chilly mornings. The guide trips are slowing down and my mind is thinking hunting. Over the past years I have been able to hunt many different things around Minnesota. I've had some amazing duck and goose hunts, spent some time archery hunting for deer and had some luck with that. Shot a few bears and called in some turkeys. But this year there is only one thing I'm focusing on-elk. Well, that isn't entirely true. I do also have a buck mule deer tag to go with my bull elk tag.

This whole summer I've been getting ready for the mountains, and Montana has been on my mind. This year I will be a little more prepared. Lightweight everything-and a new custom lightweight 300 WSM rifle. Killer optics and custom ammo. Now the next month is time to train and wait, and finish up the fishing season. So although I won't be hunting much in Minnesota, deer camp at the cabin is something I will never miss. OK, maybe I might have to go out and shoot a grouse or two, and maybe a fall turkey, but that's it I swear. Unless someone invites me goose hunting, because it would be rude to say no.
