It's hard to believe my time here at Tazin Lake is coming to an end. I feel pretty lucky to be able to spend two weeks in this place. This place spoils you in so many ways, amazing food and too much of it, huge fish and unbelievable scenery and sunsets. You try to take everything in but you just get overwhelmed. Even though the sun only sets for a couple hours there isn't enough time in the day.
This year fishing has been absolutely amazing, my big Lake trout measured 46 inches long by 24 inches round, and I was able to catch my personal best pike measuring 45 inches long by 19 inches round. The monster trout seem to be making an appearance daily; I think the count for our boat is over 10 fish over 40 inches. And the rest of the camp is doing just as well and many personal bests have happened this week. And the fact that you are hours from anything makes it all the more special to me.
Northern Saskatchewan, more specifically Tazin Lake Lodge should be on your list of places to go if you love monster fish and getting away from it all. Well, only a few days left to get that record lake trout so back in the boat we go.
