GRAND RAPIDS-The Central Lakes College Raiders forced 17 Itasca turnovers and held the Vikings to just 14 first-half points in a 76-47 Northern Division win Wednesday, Jan. 23.
Naomi Lane led the team in scoring 18 points and Maggi Fellerman tallied 16 as the Raiders shot 40 percent from the field. The defense held Itasca to just 25 percent shooting for the game.
Fellerman's 12 rebounds led the Raiders in a 48-33 rebounding margin.
At the start of Wednesday's action, the Raiders were tied with Rainy River-who defeated CLC Saturday-for third place in the Northern Division. With the win, which moved their division record to 5-2, the Raiders moved a half game in front of Rainy River, who had the night off.
The next two games are key for CLC as Saturday they will host Hibbing, who sit in second place with a 5-1 division record, and then will host division-leading Northland, again at home, next Wednesday.
