Women’s College Basketball: Heurung honored by conference

WATERTOWN, S.D. — Former Brainerd Warrior and current Mayville State University player Kylee Heurung was named the North Star Conference’s Most Valuable Player for the season and for the conference tournament.

Heurung also landed a spot on the all-conference first team.

Heurung led the Comets to the North Star Athletic Association Conference title. The Comets will compete in the NAIA National Tournament March 11-17 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Heurung is a junior forward who is averaging 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds a game. She’s collected 70 assists, 56 steals and 14 blocked shots She’s shooting 40% from the field, 30% from 3-point and 79% from the line.

Crosby-Ironton graduate Cyan Hale is also a member of the team. She’s a senior guard this season.
