Women's College Hockey: Little Falls' Stark honored

MADISON, Wis.--Emily Stark of Little Falls and the University of Wisconsin River Falls women's hockey team was one of six Falcons named to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team.

MADISON, Wis.-Emily Stark of Little Falls and the University of Wisconsin River Falls women's hockey team was one of six Falcons named to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team.

Stark, a senior forward, earned All-WIAC honors for the first time and also was the Falcons' representative on the all-sportsmanship team for the second straight year. She has been named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll three times.

Stark finished with two goals and two assists this season. A former Brainerd/Little Falls Warrior, Stark scored one game-winning goal this season.

River Falls captured the WIAC tournament title Saturday with a 3-2 overtime victory against Wisconsin-Eau Claire. UWRF has won postseason tournament and regular-season titles all four years the conference has been in existence.

UWRF, 26-2, will wait for the announcement by the NCAA committee on its postseason fate at 9 a.m. Monday March 6.
