ORLANDO, Fla.-Brainerd High School graduate Mikinzee Salo has been an impact player during her career with the St. Catherine University (St. Paul) tennis program.
Prior to the 2016 season, the senior was No. 6 all-time in career singles wins and No. 5 all-time in career doubles wins. This season, Salo continued to cement herself as one of the top players in St. Kate's history, reaching a milestone few collegiate tennis players achieve.
Wednesday, Salo won her 100th match in the Wildcats' 9-0 victory over Hollins University in Orlando. Salo reached the mark in her first match of the morning, as she and doubles partner Angie Lorenzen opened play with an 8-0 win over Hollins' Gaelin McLeod and Jhovanna Salmeron, improving Salo's overall career doubles record to 55-11 and her season record to 8-3.
Combined with her 46 singles wins, Salo eclipsed the 100-win mark and extended her win streak to seven straight matches.
She recorded career win No. 101 in singles at the No. 1 singles spot. The senior defeated McLeod 6-0, 6-3, improving her overall singles record to 47-21.

Overall, Salo has a combined dual meet career record of 101-32. She went 148-35 in her high school career for the Brainerd Warriors.
Salo has helped St. Kate's be one of the top programs in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and was a member of the team that won the MIAC regular-season championship in 2013.
The Wildcats once again are in position to qualify for the conference playoffs. St. Kate's is currently tied for fifth in the MIAC with a 2-3 record in conference play. The Wildcats are 7-5 overall.
