Women's Golf: Israelson on All-American scholar team

Emily Israelson of Staples and five other members of the Augustana University women's golf team were named to the Women's Golf Coaches' Association All-American Scholar Team Wednesday.

Emily Israelson of Staples and five other members of the Augustana University women's golf team were named to the Women's Golf Coaches' Association All-American Scholar Team Wednesday.

Israelson is making her second straight appearance on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team. A 2-time Academic All-NSIC selection, Israelson was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golfer of the Year in 2016-17 after leading the Vikings with a 77.2 stroke average. She was named first-team All-NSIC for the second straight year after recording six top 10 finishes, including four in the top five.
In 2016-17, Augustana made its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 10 seasons after winning the program's eighth straight NSIC Championship.

Teammates joining Israelson on the team were Hannah Hankinson, Sydney Weber, Jordan Bormann, McKayla Poppens and Kali Trautman.

More than 950 women's collegiate golfers earned this honor. Criteria for selection to the team includes a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
