Women's Track and Field: Kosobud MIAC Athlete of Week

ST. JOSEPH--Former Brainerd Warrior Allison Kosobud was named the MIAC and College of St. Benedict Athlete of the Week ending Feb. 11. A senior at CSB, won the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 2:15.56 at the the CSB/SJU Quadrangular Feb. 11.

ST. JOSEPH-Former Brainerd Warrior Allison Kosobud was named the MIAC and College of St. Benedict Athlete of the Week ending Feb. 11.

A senior at CSB, won the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 2:15.56 at the the CSB/SJU Quadrangular Feb. 11. That time is top 10 in Division III, leads the MIAC and is a few seconds shy of the CSB indoor record.
This marks Kosobud's third weekly MIAC honor, her first since April 8, 2014, when she was named the league's outdoor track athlete of the week. She was also named the league's indoor track athlete of the week Feb. 18, 2014.

As a first-year competitor in 2014, she won indoor and outdoor 800-meter titles, and qualified for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships. She finished second as a sophomore and fifth last season. Kosobud also competed in the 800 at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships and placed 14th.

Kosobud took a step toward qualifying for the national meet for a third time with her 800 time Feb. 11. As well as being 10th in Division III, her time leads the MIAC by three seconds and is two seconds shy of her school record. With one meet remaining before the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Kosobud leads the 800- and 1,000-meter races.
In its last warm-up before the conference meet, CSB traveled to Northfield Friday, Feb. 17, for the St. Olaf Invite. The conference championships are Feb. 24-25 at St. Thomas University in St. Paul.
