The nation's No. 1 ranked NCAA Division II wrestling team, St. Cloud State University, will be offering youth wrestling camps June 17-19 in St. Cloud.
The High School Camp (grades 9-12) will offer six-hours each day of Husky-style wrestling technique training, drills and live goes.
A pair of Youth Camps will also be offered June 17-19. The Youth Camp for young wrestlers in grades K-2 runs from 9 a.m. to Noon and the Youth Camp for youth in grades 3-6 will run from 1-4 p.m. each day of the camp. The Youth Camps help campers learn new techniques and drills while providing opportunities to compete in live-match situations.
All SCSU camps will include training in takedowns, defense and counter-attacks, top and bottom position based drills along with games and live wrestling.
The camps are led by SCSU head wrestling coach Steve Costanzo, assistant coach Brady Wilson and graduate assistant coach Travis Holt. SCSU wrestlers also serve as camp leaders during the sessions each day.
