WILLMAR-A pin and a forfeit victory in the final two matches propelled the Willmar Cardinals to a 38-33 Central Lakes Conference victory over Brainerd Friday.
Class 3A's ninth-ranked Cardinals improved to a conference leading 5-0, while handing the Warriors their first conference loss.
Brainerd's Tyler Wgeishofski secured the fastest pin with a 51 second planting of Levi Hauser. Tucker Peterson and Logan Theodore also scored pins for Brainerd.
Morgan Gibson secured a technical fall. Chad Orsburn won by major decision. Kyle Patnod and Max Boran claimed decision victories for the Warriors.
