Properties owned by the Peterson family abut a tax-forfeited parcel (outlined in light blue on the map) along the southern shore of Russell Lake, a small lake in Long Lake Township. Surrounded by land in private ownership, the parcel is currently inaccessible to the public. The county is seeking access to the property via minimum maintenance road, allowing those who wish to hike, hunt or otherwise use the public property to gain access to it. Crow Wing County GIS map.
