Accumulating snowfall is possible across parts of the Northland on Sunday into Monday. Snow will spread in from southwest to northeast on Sunday. The heaviest snowfall is expected Sunday afternoon and evening before gradually tapering off early on Monday. Generally, 1 to 3 inches of accumulation is possible from the Brainerd Lakes to the Hinckley area with the highest totals in the Brainerd Lakes region.  National Weather Service Duluth

WINTER STORM WARNINGS IN EFFECT - a quick burst of heavy snow is expected tonight and Saturday morning over a good portion of the Northland. An area of 6 to 10+ inches of accumulation is expected, as well as gusty northerly winds, with gusts up to 30 mph possible. Heavy snowfall rates and blowing snow will lead to difficult travel conditions, with snowfall rates of one inch per hour or greater as well. National Weather Service Duluth graphic.
