Set in a radio station in the 1940s, the play utilizes radio drama techniques to bring the familiar story to life. Five actors portray the 46 characters in the story, and also create all of the sound effects needed to make the narrative come alive.
The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center celebrates its 30th anniversary this year with a special retrospective exhibit tracing the growth of the Cultural Center from its humble beginnings in a barn outside of town to its current home in a historic downtown building in New York Mills.
Peter Schjeldahl was born in North Dakota and grew up in Minnesota. He found his voice in poetry and turned it to the visual arts, becoming a noted art critic. He also returned home and supported the installation of a controversial statue.
