The big lie is nothing more than a fundraising grift.
Beginning in October, nearly a year after Election Day 2020, a group with concerns about results and electoral processes has repeatedly asked commissioners to check the accuracy of the county’s results as well as conduct an examination of the Dominion Voting Systems tabulators in use to count paper ballots in Crow Wing.
Several meetings of the board this fall and winter featured requests for a forensic audit of the election results in Crow Wing County, beginning with the Oct. 26 meeting, one week shy of a year after Election Day 2020.

With about 300 people in attendance, Searching For Truth held an event Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Brainerd Exchange.
Tuesday’s meeting featured a group about half the size of the approximately 75 people who appeared Oct. 26, with some of the same speakers approaching the microphone to reiterate their reasons for requesting the forensic audit of the election results and procedures in Crow Wing County.

Echoing voter fraud claims amplified by Trump and his allies before, during and after the 2020 presidential election, those who attended Tuesday’s meeting said they weren’t satisfied with the official counts reported by the state or county.
In Texas on Thursday, the secretary of state's office said the state had begun an audit of the presidential election in its four largest counties - Dallas, Harris, Tarrant and Collin. Although Trump carried the state, Biden won three of those counties under review.
Mark Ulsaker was originally charged with four crimes: second-degree assault with a weapon, fourth-degree assault of a police officer and two counts of making threats of violence.
