"First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men. For kings and all who are in positions of authority, that (outwardly) we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life (and inwardly) a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. For such [praying] is good and right and pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior." I Timothy 2:1-3
"Moreover I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 37:26
".... let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us. Looking away (from all that will distract) to Jesus..." Hebrews 12:1-2a Amplified Bible This passage is so loaded with good stuff that it is hard for me to stay focused on what I want to convey.
My husband and I are in the process of moving from three full levels into a one-level apartment. Boy! Talk about down sizing! But since it is my turn to write for the Clergy View, and I appreciate the opportunity, I am sitting at my computer amid boxes that need to be emptied and my mind filled to overflowing with the myriad of tasks that need to be completed. I have to stop, relax and look at what is important to me today. I will start with a story:
We have heard the joyful sound, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Spread the tidings all around, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! In a world gone berserk a little good news is a welcome item, right? The Good News is that Jesus Christ is still in control and He still saves sinners like you and me!
