State highways near Brainerd reported "partially covered" as winter storm continues

The winter storm warning has been extended through Monday west due to continuation of light snow and strong winds by the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities.

A winter weather advisory has been added for central Minnesota into west central Wisconsin for light freezing rain/drizzle tonight and accumulating snow Monday.

And a winter storm watch was added for west central Wisconsin for potential of 6+” of snow Monday and Monday night.

A powerful winter storm will continue into Monday.

  • Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are expected across far west central Minnesota through tonight, with additional ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch.
  • A light glaze of ice is possible in central and east central Minnesota tonight, and accumulating snow is expected for most of the area Monday into Monday night.
